35mm Photos

Mid Peninsula | San Francisco Bay Area

The Mid Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area is home to many recreational areas. These areas provide tons of hiking and I took full advantage when I arrived to the Peninsula in 2012. These photos are from a hike and are from a film camera. I used Kodak PORTRA 35mm film for these photos.

Wounded Knee, South Dakota

Wounded Knee | South Dakota

Few places have stirred my emotions like the time I visited Wounded Knee, South Dakota. This is a very somber place that marks two very sad moments in our history. Native Americans have been treated very poorly in our history and still do not have a fair voice in our society as of today. I strongly recommend anyone visiting the Great American Landmarks such as Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills in and around Rapid City to take the extra time to drive out to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and visit the Wounded Knee site. You truly can’t know greatness until you also understand the mistakes that were made along the way to obtain that greatness. Here is more information on the Wounded Knee Massacre.

Portola Redwoods State Park, California

Portola Redwoods State Park | California

Portola Redwoods State Park in California is a great place to go for hiking and photo taking, of course. The park is home to a redwood tree forest. The canopy the forest provides keeps the ground cool even during Summer months. These photos are from when I visited the park in November of 2013. I shot these with my Olympus OM-1 analog camera using Kodak PORTRA 35mm color film. You can find more info about the park by clicking here.
