San Luis Valley in Colorado is a lesser known part of Colorado, but offers all the beauty that the rest of the state has. The San Luis Valley was a favorite place of mine when I lived there and when I returned for a visit I made sure to the valley on my agenda. I was able to visit during the Winter in between snow storms and could have been luckier with the weather. The mountains were all snow capped and tourist destinations such as, The Great Sand Dunes National Park were empty. The first photos in this series was from Mt. Evans near Denver during the same visit.
Photography from the year 2015.
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve was one of my favorite oceanside places to go while I was living in San Mateo. During low tides Fitzgerald Marine Reserve offered tidal pools that would produce the occasional starfish. There were also hiking trails and overlooks. I had traveled there several times and each time tried to capture something unique. Here are two photos I took on one such visit. My wife posed beautifully for one of them. Here is more info on Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.
Big Sur in California is a breathtakingly beautiful part of the California Coast. The rugged landscape that meets the vast ocean is great fodder for some good photos. We visited Big Sur and were taken aback by it’s beauty like so many before us and after us. It is well worth the trip to see this truly spectacular place.
