I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in November of 2012. I immediately took advantage of the photo opportunities in this area. These photos I took during a visit to San Francisco. Any photography could spend a lifetime photographing San Francisco. I’m grateful that I got to spend a couple of heartbeats in the city.
Shooting 35mm film with a full manual camera is a challenge and always an experiment. A good friend of mine gave me an Olympus OM-1 35mm film camera and the photos here are from the first outing with it. I was really taken back at the fact I had to adjust everything. From the focus to the shutter speed to the aperture, I was in complete control. The camera does have a built in meter that does help and in outdoor near perfect conditions it was fairly easy to get exposed photos. I did it and here are the results!
Coyote Point was close to my home in San Mateo, California and was one of my favorite places to take photos. The park offered many photographic opportunities with the many trails, San Francisco Bay, open areas, and Discovery Museum. Planes flying into San Francisco International Airport flew low over the Bay and came close to Coyote Point. This made for some spectacular shots.
